Time and time again, we observe that despite investing in high-quality, heat-efficient windows, many individuals fail to recognize the significance of insulating window posts and door frames. This neglect is particularly prevalent in newly constructed homes featuring steel supports between bay window frames. By applying 10mm Spaceloft Aerogel insulation to these areas, we not only eradicate cold bridges but also prevent potential mold growth in the future.
APPLICATION
- Measure the height of the post to be insulated.
- Cut four strips to fit (two of each size). Utilize offcuts whenever possible.
- Peel off the tape and affix it to the steel posts.
- Apply tape to all four vertical corners and joists.
- Securely attach the window/door frame through the insulation.
- For optimal results, extend the insulation to the bottom of the post if situated within a cavity.
